How we write
Editorial policy
How the Practice Self-Compassion editorial team writes, sources, dates, and corrects the educational articles published at /articles/.
Who writes these articles
Every article on this site is credited to the “Practice Self-Compassion editorial team.” That byline names the organizational team responsible for researching, writing, and sourcing the article. It is not a named clinician, therapist, physician, or other individual professional, and it should not be read as one.
What this content is
These articles are general education about mindfulness and self-compassion concepts and everyday practice. They are not diagnosis, treatment, medical advice, legal advice, or mental-health advice, and they are not emergency or crisis support. Reading an article, or trying a suggestion in one, does not create a clinical, therapeutic, or professional relationship with Practice Self-Compassion.
Sources and source-check dates
Each article lists the external sources it draws on and the date those sources were checked. Citing a source is not an endorsement: it does not mean that source’s author or publisher endorses this article, Practice Self-Compassion, or the app, and it does not mean we endorse everything else that source publishes.
Named review
We name a specific qualified reviewer next to an article only once that reviewer has reviewed the exact published article and given permission for their name and role to appear publicly next to it. No article on this site currently names a reviewer. Where no reviewer is named, do not assume the article received clinical, medical, or other professional review beyond the editorial team’s own writing and sourcing process.
Corrections and updates
When we make a substantive correction to an article, we update its visible date and structured data to match that correction, and only then. We do not run an automated process that advances an article’s listed date without a real edit, and a visible date on an article should not be read as evidence of any review schedule or process beyond what this policy describes.
Report a correction
If you believe something in an article is factually wrong, outdated, or unclear, tell us through the Practice Self-Compassion contact form. Please do not include personal, health, medical, or crisis details in a correction report — it is read for factual feedback about an article’s content, not as a support channel, and we cannot promise a particular response time. If you need urgent help, use the app’s crisis resources or contact appropriate local emergency or crisis support instead.
