What this guide covers

What a guided meditation means here

Here, a guided meditation is spoken audio that offers prompts for directing attention through a practice. Depending on the recording, those prompts may use breath, bodily sensation, sound, imagery, or phrases. This page is a selection guide, not a clinical recommendation or a complete Mindful Self-Compassion curriculum.

If you want the ideas behind the practices first, read what self-compassion means and its three components. The labels below are editorial navigation aids derived from the visible practice summaries. They are not diagnoses, promised outcomes, rankings, or categories assigned by the teachers.

A flexible first attempt

A simple beginner path

You might choose the shortest recording or the focus that feels most approachable today. “Loving Kindness for Beginners” is the title and description of one selected record, not proof that it will suit every beginner. There is no required order, and choosing a different focus on another day is a reasonable part of exploring what feels accessible.

  • Use a position that is comfortable and workable for you.
  • Listen without grading the experience as success or failure.
  • Keep your eyes open if that feels better.
  • Pause, stop, or choose another practice at any time.

Accessibility, safety, and support

These recordings require hearing access. This hub provides short written summaries, but they are not transcripts. Use a transcript or text alternative only when a destination visibly provides one. Posture can be adapted, and you can skip breath, imagery, sound, phrases, or a physical anchor when it feels uncomfortable.

This guide is for general education and personal practice only. It is not therapy, medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, crisis care, or emergency support, and no result is promised. Meditation should not replace conventional care or delay contacting a health-care provider. If you need urgent help, use the app’s crisis resources or contact appropriate local emergency or crisis support.

Keep the intentions distinct

Need a broader choice of exercises, including touch, words, and reading? Explore self-compassion exercises. The separate definition guide explains the three components in greater conceptual depth. To understand the sequenced educational program rather than an individual recording, read the Mindful Self-Compassion guide.
